The New Balance 420 was originally designed in the 1980's as a training shoe with the intention of protecting the runner by dispersing shock due to its 3 layer sole and lightweight construction of suede and nylon. Rated by Runner's World as the 'Best Running Shoe' of 1982, the style is back in a brown colourway upper with New Balance branding on the sides, heel piece and tongue. Other elements include a grippy wave design sole and a spare set of laces.
