The first G-Shock was designed by an engineer working for Casio named Kikuo Ibe. It was released in April 1983 and by 1998, 19 million G-Shocks had been sold worldwide. This GX 56 is introduced out of their Classic range and features the infamous shock resistant technology, solar powered battery which charges from the slightest amount of either heat or light and a double-layered, mud resistant construction. It also has highly elastic aGel inner protectors and a curved-shaped wrist band for a more agronomical fit.
